Securus, a developer of mobile safety and security products, released a new Android (News - Alert) app suitable for its eZoom and eCare+Voice products. Devices powered by Android will now serve users as a tool to safeguard family and valuables.
“We are constantly surveying the market to identify new tools and features for our customers,” said Christopher D. Newton, president and CEO at Securus, Inc. “At Securus Inc., we’re committed to anticipating and meeting customer needs to provide the best safety and security products on the market.”
The Android app can be downloaded for free by Securus customers from Google (News - Alert) Play. It is a single app which lets users find, track and view location history, and update settings in Securus GPS locators – like eZoom and eCare+Voice.
eZoom multi-use GPS tracker helps customers locate children and monitor teenage drivers while securing and locating valuables and vehicles. eZoom users can set up the text and e-mail notifications so that they get notifications if the child leaves a designated area or when set speed limits are exceeded by inexperienced drivers.
Alert buttons on eZoom also lets children and teens convey their location to their parents. Parked vehicles can be remotely monitored via a motion detector and anti-theft alert system. Also stolen vehicles can be tracked in real time with the mobile app or on a computer.
Seniors and other loved ones with special needs can also be monitored while they enjoy their freedom through Care+Voice app. It helps connect to a 24/7 Emergency Call Center representative for emergency response from any location. The Android app also informs about low battery conditions on a mobile device, as well as if it is switched off, giving caregivers control over the activities of loved ones.
According to officials, new versions of the BlackBerry and iPhone (News - Alert) apps were also released to expand the existing app service to a wider area, comprising Alaska, Puerto Rico and Hawaii. The Version 3.0 release for BlackBerry and iPhone will help users to access all app features from those areas.
BlackBerry (News - Alert) users can download the upgraded iPhone app at BlackBerry App World, and iPhone users from Apple App Store.
RACO Wireless, a machine-to-machine (M2M) enabler, was selected by Securus to deliver the M2M backbone, including wireless network connectivity and SIM management support for a number of Securus GPS applications.
