Following the release of Podio for Google (News
- Alert) Apps in the Google Apps Marketplace, it was Google Docs' turn to be integrated into the online work platform, Podio in order to deliver faster, easier file and document sharing within Podio's workspaces, Apps and Tasks.
Both Podio for Google Apps and the Podio Google Docs integration are designed to deeply connect all aspects of a user's workflow.
The integration of Google Docs, which further simplifies the process of file and document sharing within the Podio space, was in response to users' long standing request for their tasks, projects and communications on Podio to be connected to Google Docs, according to company officials.
Phil Chambers, CTO at Podio, said in a press release, "Now, Google Docs can be seamlessly shared, in context, and connected to Podio apps, tasks, messages, workspaces and ongoing conversations."
Podio is a web-based work platform for collaboration and project management helps users to build their own business apps to get work done.
According to the company stated that the integration would help Podio users, who use Google Docs for text document, spreadsheets, slide presentations and more, to immediately share their work within the Podio space with anyone they choose.
The modus operandi involved in attaching Google Docs is just like uploading any file to Podio. Users just need to click on the 'Add Files' icon, select 'Google Docs,' connect their Podio account to a Google account and select the files they want to share.
A Podio customer from LabelMatch had this to say of the integration, "This is the perfect marriage of productivity tools for us. We now have a global repository of all our tasks, projects and communications on Podio connected to our mission-critical Google Docs."
In other news, Podio, the replacement for all project management software and collaboration tools, now has translations in seven different languages; German, English, French, Danish and Spanish, including two new translations in Brazilian Portuguese and Italian. All language translations are also now available in Podio's Android and iPhone (News - Alert) apps.
